CTN look of picture test

This is so awesome. I've watched it a hundred times.  It's the look of picture test we're going to show at the Creative Talent Network Expo in Burbank, CA.

Our mini world premiere!

Scarecrow is animated by Jason Ryan, lit by Larry Vasquez, surfaced by Barrett Davis, Scot Andreason, Megan Walker. He's modeled, rigged and surfaced by Victor Vinyals, designed by Pierre Perifel and voiced by C.V. Canoe. Audio by Jamey Scott.

Thanks to all of you for lending your talents!

Look of Picture Test

In time for CTN, we'll be pushing a shot through our interim pipeline- Jason Ryan's shot 27 from sequence 2. This won't be the look of the final film, but a sketch of how we might approach the lighting and surfacing of the environment and Scarecrow. Scarecrow is voiced by CV Canoe. Here is Jason's animation:

Surfacing treatment by Barrett Scott, Megan Wilson, and Scot Andreason (in 1 week!)

Lighting and rendering are forthcoming... stay tuned!

Lucy surfacing

IP Lucy model in default pose with Barrett Martin's textures and shading, which include sub surface scattering that enables light to bounce around inside her skin.  Appeal in Lucy's face will be further developed in animation.

Rastko Stefanovic rough pose for seq1 with wet hair

Very happy with the shapes Rastko was able to achieve with the hair rig. Also a nice glimpse at our final Lucy facial modeling.

Lucy Model

An early peek at our protagonist!

Living staircase

Oh, did we mention, our house is a character too?  See the rig in action here, designed by Lucy animator Angelo Sta. Catalina, modeled by Larry Vasquez.

My own little Scarecrow animation test

Finally had a chance to try out Scarecrow-- the rig's amazing. Wish I had more time to polish this-

Layout and modeling for the opening sequences are well underway thanks to Todd Glover and iAnimate's jack of all trades, Larry Vasquez. Lighting and surfacing is now underway on these two environments courtesy Barrett Davis and his associates from Texas A & M. I've heard the first notes of our score which we are sculpting into a "signature melody"-- a haunting identity for the piece, and all dialog has been recorded including CV Canoe, who plays Scarecrow quite brilliantly imho! Enjoy!

Forest sequence

A killer sequence boarded by Lucy character designer Pierre Perifel, edited and composited by Dave Hubert!

This sequence has been cut, because well, this is what happens when you're crafting a story, but that doesn't make it any less cool to watch!

This sequence was about Lucy standing up to the Nightmare Man, Scarecrow, who always sicks his crows on her.  In tonights dream though, she thought of a diversion.  A loaf of bread.  Crows like bread, right?

That's me voicing Scarecrow by the way.  Don't worry.  I'll find someone better, don't worry.  My daughter plays Lucy.

Victor Vinyals and Pierre Perifel

Pierre's evil designs...

...realized in Victor's first pass modeling of Scarecrow.

Officially underway

The script is done and it's off to the races! Pierre Perifel's character designs are now with Victor Vinyals, our modeler, rigger... Jamey Scott is signed on as audio engineer/designer, and will be providing the recording facility. Pro musicians Paul Harrington, Warren Caudle and Doug Eldridge of Oleander will be crafting our score and Alfredo Cassano is lending his talents as our board artist. Larry Vasquez and Todd Glover are modeling environments and Angelo Sta Catalina is rigging them.

Thanks to all for joining the cause!

Cheers!
